People often tell me they'd hate to do my job. HR seems to scare a lot of people, maybe its keeping up to date with employment law and keeping out of tribunal or getting tied up in knots over a complex employee relations cases? The thing is I don't know because I love what I do! Nothing floats my boat more that pulling together all the pieces in a complex people puzzle to understand the different perspectives and then evidencing why I've formed a view or why I'm advising a particular approach. The messier the people problem the better as far as I'm concerned as it leads to greater satisfaction when I've tidied it all up.
